Another song that came from a loop that Eric created and presented. I was really into pedal tones at the time, and a bit brain washed from hearing the technique used in many Bach organ pieces from college, so this one was a favorite.
Early in the recording process, the bass and drums had been laid down, but I was really struggling with what my role was in the song, and what to add over it. None of the guitar parts I was trying to write really worked well with the song, despite my best efforts. Usually when met with this fork in the road, I choose another instrument for inspiration and for another way of looking at the song and at melody. I turned on the keyboard and the parts were written and recorded within a few hours. Probably my favorite moment of the record is when the organ and second drums come in towards the end. -CP
Unequivocally, this is by far my favorite song on the album. -EE
